Saturday was a horrific night for traffic directorate Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Faridah Nampiima whose home security guard was attacked by unknown robbers and killed him.

In an address to journalists by Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, it was revealed that the thugs raided Nampiima’s home located in Asimbwa zone, Kabowa Parish in Rubaga Division in Kampala District on May 13.

”The security guard, Matia Kintu Ssalongo was hit with a blunt object on the head and left for dead. The landlord of the premises rushed Kintu to Rubaga Hospital which referred them to Mulago National Referral Hospital because the injuries he sustained were severe and that’s where he breathed his last,” said Luke.

He says the thugs were heavily armed with pangas and a dog.

“It is alleged that assailants who were in company of a dog and armed with pangas scaled over a fence that was housing the premises of Kasato Estates that has three houses. One of the houses they targeted was for ASP Nampiima,” Owoyesigire adds that Nampiima was inside the house with the husband and were assaulted but left less harmed.

Luke says these thugs managed to take off with samsung phone, an IPhone, Flat screen television, a handbag with cash amounting to Shs300,000, among others, all valued at Shs9 million.
