Old Kampala Police Stuck With Two Stolen Cows, Thieves Take Off!

By Frank Kamuntu

The Police at Old Kampala is currently in possession of two suspected stolen cows and is seeking assistance from the public in identifying the rightful owners.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says on the 7th of June 2023, the Police received information regarding individuals who were attempting to push a Premio Toyota vehicle with registration number UAK 193B off the road due to a mechanical problem.

He says in response to the above report, officers at Lungujja Police swiftly responded and successfully intercepted the mentioned vehicle. However, upon the sight of the Police, the occupants fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.

”As we intensify our efforts to apprehend the individuals responsible for this criminal act, we appeal to anyone who lost two cattle on the 6th of June to come forward and cross-check with us,” says Luke adding, ”We believe that the recovered cows may be linked to a previous incident and it is crucial for the owners to come forward and verify their ownership.”

”Further details regarding the recovery and identification process will be made available to the public as soon as possible,” adds Luke.

”We urge the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information that could aid in our investigation. The cooperation and support of the public are invaluable in maintaining law and order in our society.”
