Staunch National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporter and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s proud muzzukulu, Masiga Mathew Kabbechi has called upon all Ugandans to embrace government programs like Parish Development Model and Emyooga.
The government launched PDM in February 2022. The overarching goal of the program is to attain socioeconomic transformation based on improved productivity in households and enterprises at the parish level.
Kabbechi says with the above programs, Ugandans especially the youths can change their lives and their standards of living, a boost to Uganda’s social and economic transformation.
”Our jaaja and his government have done their part by initiating good programs, why are we still crying over poverty, let’s embrace these programs and change our lives,” said Kabbechi during a weekend talk show at Kampala-based Kingdom FM.
Kabbechi at the same station defended Government’s ban on timber cutting, saying Uganda is losing over 1,000 trees every day as a result of the practice. President Yoweri Museveni recently ordered the cancellation of all licenses and permits issued to individuals and companies to harvest timber from forests.
Kabbechi says actually the Uganda government has been so lenient with those destroying forests saying in Kenya such is not tolerated and once caught cutting trees you serve a tough jail sentence.
”I know some of you are in opposition but you need to appreciate government in some areas when it does something good, the issue now is preserving the environment, we all know that those destroying our forests are enemies of our mother nature,” said Kabbechi.
