Court slapped the officers with aggravated robbery charges and remanded them till 27th July 2023.

The State House Unit says these officers are suspected to have caused the chaos in the recently concluded Bukedea LCV bye-election that was won by NRM’s Mary Akol.

The officers arrested are: D/ASP Ehguloiti Alex, PC Akankwasa Onesmus, D/C Oriokot Simon Peter, PC Kamakoin Difas & PC Born Naibei.

”During the investigations, it was also established that D/ASP Ehguloiti had other Police files,” adds the Unit.

The Unit further says the said files are related to other similar acts done during the 2021 elections. ”These files were processed and the suspect D/ASP Ehguloiti has been charged with murder and aggravated torture of two suspects in Police custody, who later succumbed to injuries.”
