The National Youth Leadership and Empowerment Summit will be held in Kampala from 24th to 26th August 2023, Swift Daily News reports exclusively.
The event is organized by youth leaders led by; Hon. Roy Rugumayo Kushemererwa [Vice President East African Students Union], Hon. Kato Joseph Sserusiba, Hon. Piloya Barbra Nyeko, Hon. Mushabe Lawrence, Hon. Habaasa Daniel among others.
According to these organizers, the event will be held for the first two days at Grand Global Hotel Makerere Kikoni and the final day at Kololo Independence Grounds.
”Yes, it’s now confirmed, we are holding a mega Youths Summit this August, and the event is aimed at empowering youths to become productive citizens and capable leaders of tomorrow,” Mr. Sserusiba confirmed to this site on Saturday evening.
He said senior citizens and leaders are expected to grace this Summit with lectures and orient the youths through leadership skills and empowerment programs.
Also, this site has learnt that Minister of General Duties Office of Prime Minister, Hon. Kasule Lumumba will be the guest of honor on day 1 while on day 2, Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament is expected to be the Chief Guest.
”Over 200 youth leaders/student leaders are expected to attend the first 2 days while day 3 will encompass all youth leaders and students across the country,” added Sserusiba.
He says over 4500 youths are expected to flock to Kololo Independence Grounds on the final day of the Summit where H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the President of the Republic of Uganda is expected to be the Chief Guest.
