The Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development Hon. Betty Amongi today held a discussion with a team from German led by Hon. Oliver Schenk, Minister of Federal Affairs.
During the discussion, the Minister informed the delegation about the various government programmes established to empower women, youth, and other vulnerable groups. She stressed that the fucus for government is economic empowerment, education, skilling, and provision of tools to enable them to start income generating activities.
The team also discussed issues of youth employment, bilateral cooperation in the areas of vocational training, exchange visits, and cultural cooperation, among others.
The Minister has invited the Hon. Betty Amongi to visit German in September so that a follow up agreements can be executed in the agreed areas of cooperation.
