A Crystal Clear Dig Through Of What Is Expected At The National Youth Leadership & Empowerment Summit

Not months, not weeks but just days for that National Youth Leadership and empowerment summit to kick off. The summit is a 3-day event that will take place from this Thursday 24th to Saturday 26th of August at the Grand Global Hotel in Makerere Kikoni for the 1st two days and the final day at Kololo Independence grounds.

This long-awaited event which many people expect to be the groundbreaker and eye opener for the success of the youths in leadership has been organized by youth leaders from across the country led by Hon Loy Rugumayo the Vice President of East African Students Union, Hon Kato Joseph Serusiba, Hon Piloya Babra Nyeko, Hon Mushabe Lawrence, among others.

This summit is aimed at empowering youths to become productive citizens and good leaders of tomorrow. In terms of leadership in this country, highly respected and reputable statesmen and women are expected to lecture and orient the youths through the different leadership skills and empowerment programs.

Day 1 Thursday 24th August will see the guests of Honour Hon Capt. Mike Mukula the NRM CEC Vice Chairperson Eastern Region and Ms Jane Barekye the State House Comptrollerlecture and orient the youths. Mukula’s experience as a leader and in the field of Aviation since his Youthful times, Capt. Mukula will share with the audience his experience and give tips on how one can make it in life successfully. Ms Jane Barekye will take youths through skilling and economic empowerment given her experience in skilling and lecturing. She has previously lectured industrial hubs managers at Kyakwanzi and no one doubts her leadership skills given the magnitude of work she does as the state house comptroller.

Day 2 Friday 25th August will be graced by the Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa the Deputy Speaker of Parliament. HON Tayebwa has a clean track record of being a successful entrepreneur and politician. His experiences are therefore worth being counted on in helping to empower the future leaders and entrepreneurs of this nation at the summit. Day 2 shall also be honored with the presence of Lt.Col Emmy Katabazi the Deputy Director General of the Internal Security Organisation. Afande Katabazi’s vast experience in administration and governance will spice up the event as he will share with the youths different tips on how to walk the journey of success.

Day 3 Saturday 26th of August whose events will take place at Kololo Independence grounds will be graced by Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the President of the Republic of Uganda but there will also be a speech by Hon Katushabe Ruth the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Translation. No one doubts the magnitude of experience Gen Museveni has, given the history of his efforts to liberate Uganda in 1986. Since then, he has been at the epitome of leadership in this country guiding the nation to social economic transformation.

Over 200 youth leaders are expected to attend the first two days while day 3 will encompass all youth leaders and students from across the country. Over 5000 youths are also expected to flock to Kololo independence grounds on the final day of the summit.
