Wakiso: Four Relatives Slaughter Their Brother For Failure To Appease Family Spirits

The Territorial Police in Kampala Metropolitan Police North and Wakiso district have in custody, 4 suspects, all siblings for the murder of their brother Namwanja Aloysius alias Kawunyemu aged 27, for failure to appease their family dark spirits.

According to Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, the incident occurred at Lulagala cell, Kavule ward in Nansana Municipality on the 26.08.2023.

The facts gathered indicate that the victim, was accused by his family members who included; Kawuki Isaac, Namubiru Margret, Bisaso Tonny aged 16 and Tamale Fred, aged 17, for refusal to appease the family dark spirits; which evil spirit were haunting them, as a family and also affecting their family fortunes.

”They assaulted him using sticks, killing him instantly and thereafter, set fire to his body. So far 4 suspects who include; Namubiru Margret, Ndagire, Bisaso Tonny and Tamale Fred, are in custody. Efforts are in place to trace and arrest Kawuki Isaac, who is on the run,” says Enanga.

He adds, ”The 4 siblings are charged with murder and conspiracy to murder. Its painful that the murder was motivated by a fend over appeasing evil spirits, which led to the victim falling out with his siblings. We continue to remind the public to avoid such acts of brutality and instead urged to always engage the LCs, police and respected elders within the community, to address their differences.”
