Pan African Pyramid (PAP) has stretched its wings to educational institutions among them including Victoria University (VU) where it opened a new chapter that will be under the stewardship of Prof. Lawrence Muganga as the patron.

These occurred on 30th August 2023 at the University’s auditorium during a public lecture where famous Pan-Africanist Bishop Joshua Marara III Maponga was invited as the guest speaker.

Maponga arrived in Uganda last week for PAP Global Awards that were held at Fairway Hotel on 26th August 2023 which saw over 12 pan-Africanists recognized for their tireless efforts in transforming the African continent.

At VU, the chapter was opened by the PAP founding Speaker and Chairman comrade Andrew Irumba Katusabe who instituted a tentative leadership that will be headed by Frank Kamuntu as the chairman deputised by the Victoria University Guild President H.E Carter Jorine Karyn.

Opening this chapter, Irumba noted that Pan-Africanism should not be a thing for only the old but also the young people noting that this is the only way Pan-Africanism spirit can be kept alive.

”Am appointing Kamuntu Frank to take up this Chapter leadership and Jorine Carter. These are young people whom am sure will intiate thousands of you here [refering to students] into Pan Africanism. Through working with young people we shall be able to keep the Pan Africanism spirit alive,” noted Irumba.

Target Audience

THE PAN-AFRICAN PYRAMID has the most influential and circular Audience with majority being youth. Our pioneer/ regular members include Law students from Law Development Centre (LDC), Makerere University,MUBS,KIU,Kyambogo,St.Lawrence Univ.,Busitema Univ., St.Lawrence Univ., Ndejje Univ. and the general distinguished pan-African members of the public.

We have so far opened up PAN-AFRICAN PYRAMID chapters in universities and other tertiary institutions, and supervised them to elect their own leaders to keep networking with the main headquarters from time to time. These include; MUK,Kyambogo, KIU, Ndejje, Crane media Institute and UMCAT. We are still looking forward to opening more and more.

We believe that the youth, especially university and Tertiary students are the key change agents, because they have the capacity to analyze/understand and influence.

As a norm, PAP has continued to provide support to Africans living in harsh situations, especially needy students and refugees in their respective camps.

Previously they have offered support to Nakivale Refugee settlement camps located in Isingiro district where over 120000 refugees from over 10 nations received donations, which marked the end of 2019  before the coming of COVID-19 that interrupted the 2020/21 PAP calendar before it resumed in 2022 with PAP Global Awards in August.
