Rwentuha T/C, Bushenyi District: Tans Foods Company Limited has been commissioned by the State Minister for Animal Husbandry Hon Bright Rwamirama to open jobs for unemployed youths in Bushenyi and surrounding areas.

According to the company’s team leader Mr Alfred Ahumuza, they will be dealing in maize milling. He used the same opportunity to thank the government for providing them with machinery that would help them add value to maize in the region.

On his part, Mr Travor Yebazamukama who is the company’s director in charge of marketing says their focus is now on widening the market of their products across the country and beyond its borders targeting communities and countries that have been long battling endless hunger crises.

”Our market base is going to be our neighboring countries like Rwanda. I trust the quality of the food we are going to be supplying them and am sure soon we shall have a big demand,” noted Mr Yebazamukama.

He said through Tans Foods Company, they will offer jobs to the youths and give them skills to help them create jobs for others.

Now, commissioning a multi-millionaire brand new machine donated to the company by NAADs, the Hon Minister Bright Rwamirama commended Tans Foods Company directors and asked the youths to pick a leaf and start making long-term investments.

The Hon Minister also pledged to construct a mega building for this company and boost it’s operations with some financial assistance.

According to Dr. Mugasi Samuel, the Executive Director NAADs, the Ugx. 200 million maize milling machine has the capacity to produce 25 tonnes of maize flour on a daily basis.

”Our focus as NAADs is to build capacity for value addition through distributing maize milling machines across the country. But I want to urge the youths to get involved in agricultural value chains as the only means to end rampant unemployment that is becoming the daily talk in the country,” noted Dr Mugasi.

Meanwhile, all the Tans Foods Company directors and staff among them including Ruhangaruho Nicholas, the director in charge of production, Rutebwa Alex, the director in charge of finance and Muhereza Anatoli the director in charge of field operations applauded the Hon Minister for honoring their invite and commended NAADs for supporting youth projects that have a significant impact on country’s social economic transformation.
