Q&A: Hopeful President Musanje Comes With Mighty Strategies On Kicking Corruption Out Of Uganda

By Frank Kamuntu

The political temperatures for 2026 elections have started rising, with those hopeful to be the next leaders tabling ideas and strategies on curbing challenges affecting the wanainchis of this nation. Among the hopeful leaders include a one Prince Musanje Emmanuel, who is on the mission of becoming Uganda’s next President.

In an interview this week with our reporter, Musanje said that he comes into Uganda’s political battle with a couple of strategies on ending corruption that has for long been a barrier to the country’s development.

Below Is How He Responded To Our Questions On The Above Matter

Mr Swift: Your Focus Is So Much On Corruption, Why?

Mr Musanje: The reason is, if we don’t fight corruption vehemently we will not rapidly develop our country Uganda. We need a new system and new administration to tame the corrupt officials and all civil servants, because this current regime it has not only stalled but also failed.

Mr Swift: But Mr Musanje, Who Is ‘Breastfeeding’ Uganda’s Corruption?

Mr Musanje: We have untouchables protected by the regime, high level government officials. In fact, in my government all officials from outgoing NRM government shall be subjected to investigation, all accusations of bribery and abuse of power shall be answered, in my first year in office as a President of Uganda, this will be the main campaign.

Mr Swift: How Are You Going To Deal With Corrupt Officials In Your Gov’t?

Mr Musanje: First and foremost, I want you to know that combating corruption in our motherland will become an emblematic feature of a new Uganda. We shall enforce discipline, combat malfeasance and punish members of public and government officials who would be involved in any form of corruption if found guilty, and if Uganda embrace and votes for me in 2026. I will directly spearhead the campaign and I will introduce harsh laws to tame this vice.

Mr Swift: What Are Some Of The Laws You Hope To Introduce?

Mr Musanje: The laws are very many, and they will come with harsh penalties among them, including;
1. If the member of public offers bribes and found guilty, that person shall receive (12 years in prison).
2. If the government official is bribe recipient and found guilty shall receive (life imprisonment).

3. If government appropriates funds of building, hospitals, schools, and buy medicines, especially funds for cancer patients and HIV AIDS patients, and the funds get stolen, or mismanagement, individually that person shall receive (life imprisonment and confiscate his/her properties).

4. If any civil servants abuse the office, that person individually receive (7 years in prison and another 7 years not allowed in any public office again).

My government shall establish the commission and traverse the whole of Uganda for sensitization, in the period of six months, in order for all Ugandans to understand the danger of corruption, criminalize corruption offenses and strengthen enforcement tools, conspicuously.

Mr Swift: How Should Ugandans Get Involved In Fighting This Vice?

Mr Musanje: Political corruption has exponentially grown in Uganda significantly, the types of offenses vary, we Ugandans must challenge this cancer of widespread corruption, a widening gap between rich and poor, social injustice and excessive focus on material wealth.

Mr Swift: One Last Message To Ugandans Ahead Of 2026 Elections?

Mr Musanje: Yes, I want to tell Ugandans that if they vote for me, I will make sure that all public sectors are held accountable to the highest level. This is one of the fronts that my administration will use to build a beautiful Uganda. God bless the people of Uganda. God bless Uganda.
