The Office of the National Chairman (ONC-Kyambogo) has on Wednesday afternoon empowered NRM mobilizers with equipment worth millions-Swift Daily News reports exclusively.
Handing over the equipment to the hundreds of mobilizers, ONC head Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo said that for so long, NRM mobilizers have been turned into beggars by the politicians after achieving their interests. She said this time they want all Museveni mobilizers to be economically stable, and this can only be achieved if they have a daily source of income.
“Today I am handing over these equipment to you from your Jajja, our beloved mzee Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. He said more goodies are coming but instructed me to first give you these so that you can secure your future economically,” said Namyalo.
She noted that Museveni wants all people who are working for him to be self-empowered.
“The fact is, Museveni values your support to him, and that’s why he has and continues to stand with you. Meanwhile, you must know that for us here at ONC, we do monitoring when you get these equipment go use them genuinely and be able to get some good yields out of them,” Chief Muzzukulu cautioned the mobilizers.
She spit venom to those who have been speaking hell against ONC. “I have been hearing some people speaking nonsense that at ONC we give tailoring machines, let me ask them, what have you given our people other than using them just and after elections you dump them?”
Among the equipment that was handed to the mobilizers include; tailoring machines, farming equipment like sprayers, and herbicides. Others are; sawing machines, maize and bean seeds, salon machines, popcorn machines, among others.
Some of the groups that received these equipment with joy include; youth groups, women groups, groups from the markets, boda boda groups, and hawking groups, to mention but a few.
This is not the first time ONC has been supporting Ugandans to get better economically.
In August 2023, Namyalo donated relief items to Excel Vocational Training Centre in Kalule, Luwero District, weeks after the institution was gutted by fire that destroyed property worth millions of shillings.
In April this year, ONC donated over 8,000 chicks and hybrid goats to farmers in Luweero District in what she called a poverty alleviation initiative, a special presidential arrangement to fight poverty in various parts of the country.
In June, Namyalo donated sewing machines, hair dryers, hair cut machines, and other salon accessories to start up income-generating ventures as they wait for her return to empower them with poultry full cycle and hybrid goats farming projects.
