The Office of the National Chairman NRM through its workaholic team in Lango Subregion on Friday held a successful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Lira City where they cleaned all city streets and left them shining and glimmering.
The activities spearheaded by Lango ONC Coordinators, Mr Ocen Patrick and Mr Obadah Caesar attracted a couple of local leaders, health teams, youthful ONC-NRM supporters and members from the media and the general public.
Addressing the press shortly after the activities, Mr Patrick Ocen noted that the voluntary clean-up exercise that left many locals astonished was done by the bazzukulu who trekked miles to Kampala in August to celebrate President Yoweri Museveni’s birthday, at a mega Katonga event that was held at Kololo Independence Grounds.
”The youth you have seen here are the loyal bazzukulu to Museveni. They trekked miles to Kampala last month to celebrate with their beloved Jajja and guess what, they decided to clean these streets to just demonstrate their love for their country,” said Mr Ocen.
He however requested the government to legalize their new Saccos; Bolicap, Canapota, and Atura alongside the Parish Development Model (PDM) to eradicate poverty.
He noted that PDM is a good initiative but largely manipulated by the rich, and only a few youths have benefited. In fact, one youth leader was heard complaining about the kawukumi in this government program, saying, “We’re just praying for the day we shall get a chance to meet President Museveni and report to him the mafias who are manipulating this program. We highly demand for that chance to meet our Jajja.”
The ONC NRM coordinator for Lango Sub region, Mr Obadah Caesar in his remarks said that it is time for the people of Lango to realize the benefits of NRM administration.
”Let us appreciate the good ideology through socio-economic transformation and wealth creation being put up in place by the government to help us get better economically,” said Obadah.
He went on to thank his boss Special Presidential Advisor on political affairs, Hadijjah Hadijah Namyalo for her generous contribution that made the recent Museveni’s birthday celebrations a success.
Obadah said that it is the right time to implement the NRM manifesto as they warm up to vote for Museveni in 2026 so that he can lead Ugandans to the ‘promised future’.
