Ms Mwanjuzi Prossy the Deputy RDC Mityana district currently running a position of acting RDC following the firing of scandalous Aharikundira Africano, has ordered the closure of Golden Learning Centre Nursery and Primary School, Mityana over the suspected poisoning of over 100 students.
The incident happened on 27th at Namungo Central Village, Namungo Parish, Namungo Sub-county, Mityana District and the victims [students] experienced symptoms such as stomach ache, headache, and vomiting immediately after being served posho and beans for lunch at 1400 hours.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga earlier said that they arrested two cooks and over 100 affected pupils were taken to various health facilities, including Namungo Health Center III and MUKJ Medical Clinic.
RDC Mwanjuzi says after a meeting with the district security committee, they decided to close the school for two weeks as investigations kick-off.
”It was so unfortunate for our beloved children whom we suspect ate poisonous food, but the good news is that we have arrested the prime suspects and investigations are going on to ascertain the cause of this deadly incident,” said RDC Mwanjuzi, a committed and proud servant of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Due to her hard work and being a pro-people servant, residents of Mityana have since appealed to the Office of the President to appoint her as a full RDC.
Last week following the firing of Africano, residents were quoted praising the move and saying that for long Ms Mwanjuzi has been their saviour and their strongest wall against land grabbers, thus requesting that she gets promoted to a full RDC.

”Mwanjuzi in her little capacity as D/RDC has done her best to make sure people live happily on their land, but of course sometimes she was hindered by the orders of her senior RDC Africano who was good at conniving with land grabbers. So we thank the Minister of Presidency for hearing our prayer and transferring Africano, but to us, that’s not enough, the biggest gift they can give to the people of Mityana is by appointing Mwanjuzi as a full RDC because in her little capacity of D/RDC she has done a lot, what if she is appointed a full RDC?,” appealed a one Kato Tonny of Mityana town council.
