Heavy rains on Sunday washed away two schools in Mityana district and left over 100 locals affected-News has learnt.
According to the Acting RDC Prossy Mwanjuzi, the schools affected are; Butebi Islamic Primary School & St Luke Nakibanga Primary School.
She says that on top of the two schools, dozens of the houses of the residents were also washed away and others were left in a sorry state.

Heavy seasonal rains started affecting East Africa in late April and have since caused a heavy loss of life and property, compounding the risks to human health and food security.
Uganda, Burundi, Djibouti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Somalia, have been badly affected. Over 260 people have reportedly been killed in the last few months, tens of thousands of people have been displaced, and crops, homes and infrastructure have been swept away by flash floods and landslides.
