The revived flag carrier Uganda Airlines (UR) on Tuesday (October 3, 2023) shed light on the historical Entebbe-Mumbai Flight launch.
The airline hosted a press conference in Mumbai attended by H.E. Prof. Joyce K Kikafunda, High Commissioner of Uganda to India, H.E. Madhusudan Agarwal, Honorable Consul Uganda, Mumbai-Western Zone, H.E Vinod Saraogi, Hon. Consul Uganda Chennai-Southern Zone and Adedayo Olawuyi, the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Uganda Airlines.
They all highlighted the importance of this most awaited route between India and Uganda. Further, they described the significance of the Indian community in Uganda and their role in developing the country.
The relationship between these two developing countries is 100 years old. Indian Community has been traveling to Uganda for leisure, business, and to experience the unique wildlife beauty.
Flight Details
This historical flight will deploy its brand new Airbus A330neo aircraft. The direct flight will take approximately five hours and 30 minutes.
Adedayo Olawuyi, Uganda Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer, revealed that ‘‘the maiden Entebbe-Mumbai flight is scheduled for October 7. The airline plans to operate three flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.”
Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is India’s largest commercial city and ranks as the sixth most populous metropolitan area globally, with approximately 23 million inhabitants.
The direct flight will further strengthen the relationship between India and Uganda. Additionally, it will facilitate closer connections between Ugandan and Indian families, fostering appreciation for cultural differences and events.
