By Frank Kamuntu

The Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs (UPFYA) says they have finalized plans for the 2023 Youth Business Expo & Forum, an event that will be held at Kololo Airstrip on Friday 24th October 2023.

UPFYA says the chief guest will be HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who will tip the youths on how they can secure their future through self-empowerment and job creation.

For our first-time reader, UPFYA together with her partners convene the Annual Youth Business Forum to enable young people to interact with policymakers, government, and Investors and deliberate on issues that affect the policy business environment as well pitch to investors.

This year’s forum will be held under the theme; ”Building Sustainable Strategic Partnerships and Policy Frameworks for Supporting Youth Innovation and Startups.”

Evelyn Anite, the State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization, and Hon Phiona Nyamutooro, a legislator representing the Youth in the parliament of Uganda, are among the officials who will grace this highly anticipated event.

In a press conference for this same event held at Parliament of Uganda in September 2023, Nyamutoro said the forum is focusing on transforming the mindset of youths to embrace entrepreneurship as a form of employment.

Hon. Evelyn Anite urged young people to embrace SME’s, noting that history has been tested on the growth of small and medium enterprises into big businesses that transform society.

Some of the sponsors behind this event include Uganda Revenue Authority, Kampala Capital City Authority, Uganda Development Bank, Post Bank, Private Sector Foundation Uganda, Ministry of Finance, Uganda Communications Commission and Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.
