Ready To Win Again

It’s worth noting that last year, Parental Care Bushenyi came second in Africa during the spelling bee competitions that were held in Malawi’s second-largest city, Blantyre.

The school’s Deputy Headmaster, Mr. Desmond Tayebwa who teaches spelling said for the past five years, Parental Care has been winning the competition which he accords to hard work and a vibrant reading culture.

”Our school has been winning several competitions and now focusing on the national spelling bee championship that will be held in October this year in Kampala,” said Mr Tayebwa adding; ”Our mighty school is among the top best in Uganda because of our hard work. Our pupils are highly succeeding because we have instilled a vibrant reading culture in them. I, therefore, request our parents to trust us with more children, we help shape a better future for them.”

Tayebwa has vowed that even this time, his students are so ready to scoop these competitions before he asked parents not only from western Ugandan but the entire country to trust this mighty school with their students.

”The fact is our school is now on the highest standard one can think of, just watch out and see, my pupils will tomorrow make us proud again. It’s against this background that I request our dear parents to trust us with their children, we set the quality future they deserve,” noted Tayebwa.

Tomorrow’s spelling bee competitions will attract schools from all the regions of the country. The competitions that are held annually will see the first three schools heading to continental competitions that will be held in Ethiopia late this year.

How Does Spelling Bee Competition Work?
In a spelling bee, contestants take turns trying to spell words correctly. The contestants may work in teams or as individuals, depending on the bee. A judge reads a word aloud, and then the contestant must spell the word aloud.
