Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) is currently hosting a prestigious event at its main offices in Nakawa, Kampala, where it is recognizing and rewarding the most compliant taxpayers of the year.

The distinguished Chief Guest for the occasion is Prime Minister Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah.

The Taxpayers Appreciation Awards, as highlighted by John Musinguzi Rujoki, URA Commissioner General, is a special annual event designed to pay tribute to and celebrate the exemplary efforts of the most diligent taxpayers throughout the year. The event is being conducted under the theme “Celebrating the Economic Heroes of Uganda.”

Several esteemed personalities are in attendance, including Finance Minister Matia Kasaija, State Minister for Investment Evelyne Anite, Finance Permanent Secretary Ramathan Ggobi, various Commissioners, Members of Parliament, and other distinguished taxpayers.

As an organization, URA plays a crucial role as it is mandated to assess, collect, and account for Central Government Tax Revenue, which encompasses Non-Tax Revenues. Additionally, URA provides valuable advice to the government on policy matters related to all revenue sources.

This event serves not only as a recognition of compliance but also as an opportunity to celebrate the vital contributions of these economic heroes to the nation.
