Uganda’s most celebrated educationist who serves as Victoria University Vice Chancellor, Prof Lawrence Muganga on Friday joined thousands of believers who convened at House of Prayer Ministries International (HPMI) to mobilize funds for the world-class church building dubbed ‘Pentagon’.
Invited by the Church’s lead pastor, Aloysius Bujjingo, Muganga said this church is among the very few that mean business when it comes to the works of spreading the word of God [gospel] that has transformed millions of Ugandans, especially the youths.
”It’s undoubtable that Pastor Bujjingo’s words, his gospel and his motivational messages have transformed millions of Ugandans. Most of our youths have since changed their mindsets and are now working hard to achieve their dreams, courtesy of Pastor Bujjingo’s powerful preaching that tells you not only to pray but also to go out and work, in fact to me, Bujjingo is not only a Pastor but also a Professor,” noted Muganga.
Muganga citing Haggai 1: 8 which states, ”Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified,” pledged Ugx5m on behalf of Victoria University and Ugx3m on his own behalf as a contribution to the ongoing fundraising campaign of building a 38000 seater church at Canaan Land.
According to Pastor Bujjingo, construction works of what will be the biggest church complex in Africa will commence early next year, but this is only possible if he manages to raise Ugx100b.
“We need only Ugx100b to build the biggest church entity in Africa, this is very little money which is not even comparable to what is paid to a professional football player like Ronaldo in just one year,” said Bujjingo.
He says that the church will have a complete floor that will accommodate an 800-car parking yard, swimming pool, a business centre and other recreational facilities.
The famous pastor adds that once completed, the Church Premise will also house Salt Media conglomerate, “Ffe Munnyo” being their famous slogan.
The Church boasts of one TV and Radio station consisting of 6 frequencies. These are, 107 Kampala, 97.5 Mubende, 102.6 Mbale, 95.0 Mbarara, 90.3 Fort portal and 98.2 Jinja.
