State House In Action! Six Remanded Over Conspiracy To Commit A Felony

On Monday after State House Anti Corruption Unit working with Kira Road police station arraigned 6 suspects before the KCCA Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

According to the Unit, the suspects were arrested on the night of 5/1/2024 after they without any court orders forcefully accessed the partially demolished family home of the late Eng. Johnson Eliba Orech armed with machetes and violently attacked and robbed one of the family members of his phone and money.

”The family home had earlier been illegally demolished without any Court Order after a similar attack by people acting on the instructions of Yusuf Ssemakula on 26th Dec 2022,” says the Unit adding;

”This incident was investigated by the Anti-Corruption Unit and the status quo was to be maintained pending the conclusion of court cases as to the ownership of the property.”

The Unit says officers at Kira Police Station were able to swiftly respond to a distress call made by another family member and apprehend the 6 suspects, who indicated to the police that they had also been sent by Yusuf Ssemakula, who is sighted in several similar cases of illegal evictions reported to the Unit.

The suspects include; Lukwago Julius, Kato Hussien, Okello Peter, Katerega Umar, Ochen Hussien, and Bahati Godfrey, and they were remanded until 01/02/2024.
