The territorial police in Greater Masaka and Kyotera district, have in custody a one Ssekayiba Ishag, on suspicion of being an ADF rebel collaborator.
Uganda Police spokesperson Fred Enanga says the suspect was intercepted in a motor vehicle Noah, under South African, registration number B9243TP, by the Joint border security team that has all along taken monitoring his movements, from Uganda to South Africa (and the countries in between).
”He was found in possession of an assortment of electric wires and security lamps. Arrangements to hand him over to the counter-terrorism headquarters in Kampala were in place. Our Joint counter–terror task teams continue to monitor all spaces to ensure no more ADF rebel hubs or domestic cells are created within the country,” says Enanga.
In other news, the territorial police in Mt. Moroto region and Amudat CPS, are investigating a tragic incident, where 4 occupants in Motor vehicle Toyota Harrier, gray, registration number UBP 601Q, were shot dead, by unknown person, along Amudat – Katabok road, Ankukunyo village, Amudat parish, on the 4.02.2024 at around 3:30pm.
The victims, all residents of Mbale City, were identified as Umaru Binyota, a 34 year old, businessman, of Namusi- Mbale, Umaru Watime a 40 year old, resident of Nakaloke zone 3, Aramathan Boy, a 25-year-old, resident of Namusi – Mbale and Abasi Mubajje, a 23 year old, resident of Namusi.
”At the scene, 3 bodies of Binyota, Aramanthan and Abasi were found outside the car. All bodies had multiple bullet wounds on the head, faces, legs, hands, back and chest respectively,” says Enanga.
He says one projectile, 6 cartridges were recovered from inside the car and 7 cartridges from outside, all totaling 13.
”The K9 was deployed, but it lost track after a distance of 1km. Five mobile phones (2 smartphones, 3 Itel small phones) were recovered from the scene, as well as documents showing cash calculations recovered from the scene,” says Enanga,” The Joint Security Task Team has been tasked to ensure the perpetrators of the violent murder are swiftly identified, arrested and brought to book.”
