Western Uganda’s famous businessman and staunch NRM supporter Kururagire Prosper Tuhaise has recognized the best candidates who performed excellently in the previously released Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) 2023 exams.
At an event held at Bukiro Town Council, Mbarara District, Mr Tuhaise gifted bedsheets and blankets to all pupils who got first grades as they prepare for their secondary journey.
The heavily loaded who is also the director Bungabet Africa with presence in 8 countries did the above in collaboration with the former Kashari MP aspirant dubbed former LCV Chairman Mbarara district, Capt JB Tumusiime Bamuturaki who handed over mattresses to the best candidates.
In his remarks, Prosper urged parents to sacrifice and make sure they educate their children, saying for a country to prosper it must have an educated citizenry.
“The NRM government brought free education (UPE), so stop sitting with your children at home, send them to school to prepare and mold them into responsible citizens,” Prosper urged parents.
To the learners, Prosper tasked them to ignore destructors and focus on their education, saying they can only be able to achieve their bright future if they are educated.
Meanwhile, one of the candidates [names held for privacy purposes] who received a blanket and a mattress praised Prosper and Capt JB for thinking about them, noting that she was ‘thirsty’ for this form of support.
“Am very happy that our NRM chairman here in Bukiro Town Council Mr Prosper has never forgotten us as the young generation, he has relieved my mother by extending this support to me. My mother was already worried about where she was going to get money to buy for me these requirements,” said a jubilant beneficiary of Prosper’s support.
In the 2023 PLE Exams, a higher proportion of candidates passed in Div three and above level. Overall, the performance of candidates is comparable to that of 2022.
