The Saudi royal family is often regarded as the world’s wealthiest due to their lavish lives. However, available information indicates that there is a family that is significantly richer than them.
Bloomberg reports that the royal Al Nayan family of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is the world’s richest family, with over 700 cars, eight private jets, a presidential palace valued at $475 million, and mansions, among other assets. Bloomberg estimates the family’s net fortune at $305 billion.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the family patriarch and ruler of the United Arab Emirates, holds both positions. According to sources, the family has invested in a variety of companies, all of which add to their vast riches. The Al Nahyan family has a mansion worth millions of dollars.
In June 2023, the New York Post reported that the family’s eight aircraft included one Airbus A320-200 and three Boeing 787-9s. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reportedly owns a $478 million Boeing 747 and a $176 million Boeing 787. Additionally, the family owns three of the world’s top ten largest yachts.
The family has also made some wise and diverse investments, such as acquiring a 6% interest in the world’s oil reserves and investing in Elon Musk’s SpaceX, among others.
The Sheikh’s family includes 18 brothers, 11 sisters, nine children, and 18 grandchildren.
