By the finest of margins, Lubega Vincent Nsamba, affiliated with the National Unity Platform (NUP), has secured the position of Makerere University’s 90th Guild President.
He was subsequently congratulated by party president Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

The official declaration by the Makerere University 90th Electoral Commission came after Nsamba garnered 2540 votes in the online election held today.
Nsamba’s triumph was by a slim variance, with his nearest rival, Ariho Edmond, closely trailing with 2536 votes, marking a mere four-vote difference and placing Edmond as the second.
Kasekende Fulungensio secured the second runner-up position with 1674 votes, while Wandukwa Simon followed with 1039 votes. Notably, a total of 16 candidates contested for the Makerere 90th Guild seat in this election cycle.
Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Kirunda Ramadhan, reported that a substantial number of students participated, with an expected 25,000 voters engaging in the election, reflecting a significant turnout from the student body.
In his new role as Guild President, Nsamba will shoulder the responsibility of representing the student body’s interests, advocating for their rights, and collaborating with the university administration to address pertinent issues affecting the campus community.
Nsamba’s victory has generated enthusiasm and anticipation on social media, with students eagerly anticipating his leadership as the newly elected Guild President.
