In a bid to keep its name vibrating in the ears of Ugandans border to border, Victoria University has unveiled Western Uganda’s celebrated comedian Valentine Muhereza, aka Kachaina, as its western region’s brand ambassador.
Kachaina a musician and comedian began his career in early 2004 as a kareoke comedian in bars and clubs in Kampala. This was shortly after he had ‘nailed’ his O’level at Karamba Hill Secondary School. Later, Kachaina took his talent back home [western Uganda] and since then, he has become a famous king of comedy and this explains why Victoria University chose him among the many.
Currently, a presenter on TV West and Radio West, Kachaina joins a powerful list of brand ambassadors of Victoria University, including top musicians Sheebah Karungi, Victor Ruz, among others.
Shortly after being appointed, Kachaina rushed to his socials where he expressed his excitement; ”I’m thrilled to announce my appointment by Victoria University, as its Brand Ambassador for the Western Uganda Region. I’d like to thank God almighty, Dr. Muganga & the University administration for trusting my services. I pledge to do my best to ensure the growth & success of this prestigious Institution.”
Commenting on Kachaina’s appointment, Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr Lawrence Muganga said the comedian’s story of perseverance and commitment is a sign that achieving an education is not just a dream, but something possible.
”At Victoria University, where education is closer to people and dreams come to life, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on a true hero among us, Mr. Valentine Muhereza, a shining example of hope from Western Uganda,” says Muganga adding; ”Affectionately known as Kachaina, Valentine has overcome life’s challenges to achieve the education he always wanted. Today, he’s not just living his dream but also stands as a symbol of winning against the odds.”
