The council of Lwengo District Local Government has passed a resolution to recognize the good works done by the famous organization against corruption, Volunteer Uganda Extra headed by the no-nonsense Tushabe Bruce Nzabanita Nsolonkambwe.
This has been revealed in the minute extract seen by this website where the clerk to council Mr Mugumya Wilfred informs the Chief Administrative Officer thus;
”Lwengo District Council meeting at its sitting on 21st December 2023 under Min. No. 09/LDC/02/2024 council resolved and approved to award of a certificate of appreciation to an NGO volunteer Uganda Extra Ltd for its effort in fighting corruption, rule of law and good governance.”
According to the organization’s President Nzabanita, the recognition boosts their morale to fight for the rule of law and justice for every Ugandan.
”I thank Lwengo district chairman Ibrahin Kitata for working very well with us for all the years we have fought corruption in Lwengo and he has always supported us because he is among the few leaders in Museveni’s government who don’t tolerate corruption,” said Nzabanita.
He also commended the district council for recognizing Volunteer Uganda out of the thousands of anti-corruption organizations. He further hailed Bukoto Mid West MP Isaac Sejjoba for recognizing the impact created by this organization.
Nzabanita has since vowed that the recognition being a boost to their efforts against corruption, they are to continue neutralizing whoever engages in this bad vice that hinders the country’s growth.
He has called upon other government agencies like the Uganda Police, Office of Director of Public Prosecution, Inspector General of Government, State House Anti Corruption Unit and other agencies to come on board and work with Volunteer Uganda to ensure a corrupt-free country.
