”I urge academic institutions including Clarke to invest more in research and technology to enable our graduates to swiftly battle global challenges including climate change, which has since affected the entire globe,” Muyingo emphasized.
She noted that the University that started last 16 years with less than 50 students has so far over 3600 alumni, with invaluable connections across health sciences, business, and technology, locally and globally.
Prof Nanyonga further noted that of the 3600 alumni, 93% are gainfully employed, 87% hold a position related to their degree, 2500 have graduated with health-related qualifications and 15 have unique programs geared towards advancing leadership skills and preparing our graduates to compete globally.
The graduation came at a time when the University is battling with raising, USD35000 required to purchase a 40-seater bus to ease transportation of students especially the scientists going for field studies. Prof Nanyonga rallied all friends and well-wishers of Clarke to donate towards this cause.
