The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) headed by the proud and workaholic chief muzzukulu Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has today thrilled Muslim leaders with Ramadan packages as one of the requirements of zakat.
The chief muzzukulu made this offer in partnership with the Head of Mission of the UAE Embassy to the Republic of Uganda H.E. Abdalla Hassan Alshamsi who donated these packages through the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates.
Handing over these packages to hundreds of Muslims, Hajjat Namyalo noted that her office serves all religions but this being Ramadan, she thought of giving support to Muslims who selfish politicians have for long sidelined.
”I appreciate our good brothers and sisters from the United Arab Emirates who have supported us today with these Ramadan packages, your excellency the Ambassador delivers our appreciation to the people of the UAE. This office stands with the common person, the wanainchi. In most cases, the corporate Muslims are given priority, forgetting that the needy people are these on the ground,” said Namyalo vowing that she will continue to support all Ugandans regardless of their religious affiliations.
”Those selfish politicians have always accused me and some even went far as to report me to the president that I prioritize Muslims, those are baseless rumours because when Museveni appointed me here didn’t tell me to serve this or that religion, today we are here to assist our colleagues who are fasting.”
In his message, H.E. Abdalla Hassan Alshamsi commended Ugandans for being welcoming people. He noted that in the few years he has been in Uganda he has enjoyed the love and hospitality of Ugandans.
On the other end, however, Ambassador Hassan Alshamsi urged Ugandan Muslims to curb divisionisms and be united as the only way to boost the growth of their religion.
”Am glad that am seeing this huge number of Muslims here, it’s my humble prayer that you all get united and be one person because Allah sees us as one person. by doing this we shall be able to move forward our faith and we shall be pleasing our creator,” said H.E. Abdalla Hassan adding that the Embassy will continue to support Ugandans through the government and the Office of the National Chairman.
Within the package included wheat flour, a big box of tea bags, rice, salt, sugar, beans, maize flour, and cooking oil.
