As we report this, the world today is thriving on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which allows computers, phones and other digital machines to simulate human intelligence and problem-solving capabilities.
To break it down, AI is the new life we live because in the education system, for example, AI personalizes learning experiences, automates administrative tasks, provides insights through data analytics, and facilitates remote learning.
AI-powered tools can adapt to individual student needs, offering tailored instruction and feedback. Additionally, AI helps educators identify areas for improvement, optimize curriculum, and enhance overall efficiency in educational processes.
Further, AI technologies like speech recognition and natural language processing improve accessibility for students with disabilities, allowing them to participate more fully in educational activities. Also, during times of crisis or when physical attendance is not possible, AI facilitates remote learning by providing virtual classrooms, interactive simulations, and real-time collaboration tools…i mean, the power of AI is just huge.

Now, after realizing that the world is developing on AI technology and the job market is easily accessed by digitally upright graduates, Prof Lawrence Muganga came up with a groundbreaking AI book dubbed; ”From Chalk To CHATBOTS: Discovering Authentic Education With AI”, ranking him the first-ever author of a book about Artificial Intelligence in East Africa.
In this book that will soon be launched, Prof Muganga the Vice Chancellor of Victoria University showcases his commitment to integrating AI into university education on the continent, no wonder Victoria University is now not only Uganda but East Africa’s leading technologically-enabled University.
According to Muganga, this book will open the eyes of fellow academicians, policymakers and other stakeholders in the education sector as it calls for innovative teaching methodologies that align with the real world in this fourth industrial revolution.
”We live in the age of artificial intelligence, so we need to dig deep and understand what AI is all about and how we can leverage it to better ourselves. We can make money with AI, we can use it to fight unemployment, but we can’t do anything before we understand its magic which the book reveals,” says Muganga referring to the ingredients in his AI book.
He asserts that for any University to be ranked amongst the best and for any business to thrive and register itself on the global stage, must embrace and live with AI.
