According to Forbes, the World’s Billionaires List for 2024 includes 2,781 entries, with the youngest of the richest born into money.
But who are these adolescent billionaires, and what empires do their names represent?
Forbes’ list includes only two people under the age of 20.
- Clemente Del Vecchio
Del Vecchio, 19, owes his net wealth to his father, Leonardo Del Vecchio, who founded EssilorLuxottica, the world’s largest producer and supplier of spectacles and frames.
The younger Del Vecchio presently owns a 12.5% share in Delfin, a Luxembourg-based holding company that he inherited after his father died in 2022.
Delfin also has stock in other significant corporations, including several banks.
Clemente was formerly the world’s youngest billionaire (at the age of 18), but he has since outgrown the title, which now belongs to Livia Voigt.
2. Livia Voigt
According to Forbes, Voigt, 19, is the main shareholder in WEG Industries, a Brazilian electric motor producer. Her grandpa, Werner Ricardo Voigt, co-founded WEG in 1961.
According to Forbes’ biography on Voigt, she is currently a student with no active role in the company.
Forbes predicted that 25 billionaires under the age of 33, including Del Vecchio and Voigt, will be on the 2024 list, with a total net worth of $110 billion. With the exception of a few individuals above the age of 30, Forbes assessed that very few were self-made.
Forbes’ official website provides a comprehensive list of the world’s youngest billionaires, as well as information on the methods used to determine their wealth.
