Raphael Okiot was on his way to court when his vehicle was crashed by the truck which lost control along the Entebbe-Kampala Expressway.
Taking to social media, Raphael’s family, friends, and students have mourned him in moving posts, expressing shock at his untimely demise.
Here are some of the posts shared:
Muwonge Timothy said: “Rest in peace my dear lecturer and Counsel Raphael Okiot we’re going to miss you as LLB CLASS.”
Lukenge James said: “May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Benny Franz said: “It is so traumatising to see it happening and I could not rescue. May he rest in peace.”
Mariam Ali said: “Bambi! This is my lecturer.”
His wife said funeral arrangements would be announced later.
Footage from traffic surveillance cameras along the Entebbe-Kampala expressway has shown the disturbing moment a cement mixer truck fell on a car in traffic.
As shown in the video, the vehicles were complying with the Nkumba University traffic lights which signalled them to stop at an intersection.
The ill-fated personal car was a Mitsubishi RVR whose occupant died on the spot.
