State House Anti Corruption Unit working together with the Police arraigned Tumukugize Darlington, a biomedical engineer at Kiruddu National Referral Hospital before the Makindye Chief Magistrates Court on charges of possessing suspected stolen property and unlawful possession of government stores.
The accused, being a biomedical engineer at Kiruddu Hospital, and in charge of verifying some of the medical supplies, supplied at the hospital, has allegedly been pressuring suppliers to buy medical equipment from his agents, including his wife’s company, Kamedi Tech Health Care & Hospital Supplies.
It is also alleged that after receiving the supplies, he returns some back to the market for his private gain.
”He was found in possession of twenty pieces of wall oxygen single flow meters and four hospital mattresses with labels of Kiruddu hospital and Mulago hospital,” says State House unit adding that he has been remanded until 14/05/2024.
