‘Danger’ Man Forces Speeding Car Into Nakasero State Lodge, SFC Commandos Give Him Fire!

By Our Reporter

Security agencies have apprehended Shafik Bwanika, who allegedly attempted to drive into Nakasero State Lodge without proper security clearance.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, around 2:10 PM. According to Special Forces Command (SFC) spokesperson Maj. Jimmy Dennis Omara, Bwanika’s car, with registration number UBE 434T, tried to forcefully gain access to the State Lodge.

SFC soldiers on guard thwarted the breach, despite Bwanika ignoring multiple security protocols that were signalled to him. Warning shots were fired, but they had no effect. The guards then targeted the car’s tyres, eventually flattening them and slowing down the vehicle.

Realizing the danger, Bwanika made a quick U-turn at the checkpoint and attempted to flee. However, all the tyres were damaged, forcing him to drive on wheels until he reached the gate of Platinum Hospital, where he parked the car. The police promptly arrested him. Bwanika was accompanied by an unidentified woman during the incident.

Currently, Mr. Bwanika is detained at the Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala.

SFC emphasizes that members of the public should adhere to security protocols when accessing restricted areas. They should also pay attention to writings on posts and signposts at checkpoints.
