Victoria University has applied for the accreditation of its Bachelor of Law programme days after getting approval to offer the Bachelor Of Pharmacy Program, Swift News reports exclusively.
In a letter seen by this site, the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has swiftly written to the University’s Vice Chancellor Prof Lawrence Muganga informing him that a team has been constituted to assess the University’s readiness to offer the program.
Following your submission of the Bachelor of Law programme to NCHE for accreditation. I wish to inform you that a team has been constituted to verify/inspect the facilities/resources for supporting the delivery of the proposed programme,” reads NCHE’s letter signed by its Executive Director Mary Okwakol.
The letter reveals that the verification/inspection exercise will commence on 7 May 2024. ”Please accord the team all the assistance they may need to carry out a successful exercise.”
Victoria University is among the Universities in Uganda known for offering up-to-date programs. It should be remembered that last year, the Federal Government of Nigeria announced plans to suspend the accreditation of university degrees from Kenya and Uganda in what it said is an effort to crack down on fraudulent academic certificates, but this didn’t shake students of Victoria University since it’s not among the universities offering fake degrees.
