Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Miss Tourism Contestants Receive Valuable Advice From Buganda Kingdom Icons

By Jamillah Oluka

In a heartwarming gesture of support and mentorship, the Miss Tourism Buganda Kingdom 2024 contestants, currently hosted by Orgonite Smart Homes until the 31st of May 2024, were recently graced with a special visit. Buganda Kingdom’s senior Senga Hamidah Namatovu and Uganda’s top female rally driver, Susan Muwonge, took time to share their wisdom with the young women.

Senga Hamidah Namatovu, a revered figure in Buganda Kingdom, emphasized the importance of character and behavior beyond beauty. Addressing the contestants, she urged them to be exemplary ambassadors of Buganda Kingdom and to embrace the cultural values that define the region. “Understanding the Buganda culture is pivotal for a girl child,” she remarked, highlighting the heritage they represent.

Susan Muwonge, the trailblazing rally driver, inspired the contestants with her journey to success. Defying societal norms and family expectations, Muwonge shared her personal story of resilience and determination. “I had to beat all odds to stick to my dream of becoming a rally driver despite the discouragement I got from my relatives,” she recounted. Muwonge encouraged the contestants to embrace confidence as a key to shaping their futures positively.

The Chairman of Orgonite Smart Homes warmly welcomed the Buganda Kingdom team and the contestants to their apartments, extending an invitation to promote the newly furnished accommodations on their social media platforms. “We aim to provide a conducive and quality stay for visitors in Kampala,” he stated.

The brief but impactful visit left a lasting impression on the contestants, who expressed gratitude for the advice and wisdom imparted by their elders. They pledged to carry forward these lessons as they continue their journey in the Miss Tourism Buganda Kingdom 2024 competition.

Orgonite Smart Homes is proud to support initiatives that empower young women and promote cultural heritage. As a host and a partner in this endeavor, we look forward to seeing the contestants thrive and make a positive impact in their communities.
