It’s been pomp and glamour in Rukiga district as Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Kyambogo swung into action to empower HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s bazzukulu.
This empowerment initiative was held at Kantare playground in Kashambya subcounty where thousands of people gathered. These included bazzukulu who subscribe to National Unity Platform (NUP), Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) among other political groups and pressure groups.
The event also attracted hundreds of political leaders, who included area MPs and district leaders.
The area Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Fred Kyamuzigita, who asked ONC manager Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo to remind the President about pledges he made including working on the Muhanga – Kisizi road which is in a terrible state.
“Our senior and most hardworking Chief Muzzukulu we are requesting you to remind the President that his people are still waiting for him to work on this road of Muhanga – Kisizi,” said Kyamuzigita adding; “Also,Hajjat remind our President that his people need a Court of Law, people trek from Rukiga to Kabale district to look for justice.”
Later, Hajjat Namyalo jumped onto the stage with baddest dance strokes boosted by hottest jams and raps of Gravity Omutujju.
She informed the fully charged mammoth of bazzukulu that President Museveni being a lead advocate of wealth creation, asked her to stretch her empowerment initiative to Rukiga district for his people to benefit.
“Just like we have always been empowering other people in various parts of this country, today we’re here to preach wealth. Our Jajja and his dear one Mama Janet Museveni are proud advocates of wealth creation. Therefore we have come here to tell you that use these tools to kick poverty out of your families,” said Namyalo.
She said the ONC monitors government services and programs, fighting corruption, and ensuring that the wanainchi benefits from the government programs.
“While I was here, some one told me that Parish Development Model (PDM) is still news to many of you here, you haven’t benefited from this program because it involves a lot of bureaucracy but also Ugx1million is not enough capital so that’s why we come in with our hands on materials that enables you to start earning immediately,” said Namyalo.
Namyalo said the equipment delivered to the bazzukulu during empowerment are directly from the President but some times well wishers come on board to support the cause. She said the Rukiga empowerment was boosted with financial support from a one big hearted Dr Sylvia Alinaitwe who is eyeing to take area MP seat come 2026 elections.
“It’s unfortunate when we come here some people try to drag us into their selfish political games, I want to make it clear, ONC is a house for all bazzukulu of President Museveni. We are not interested in your cheap politics. So those who were threatening me and trying to stop me from coming here please be informed I was appointed by Museveni and told me to serve his bazzukulu, get me out of your politics,” fumed Namyalo before praising Dr Sylvia for being supportive to such a good cause that aims to elevate Ugandans from poverty.
Among the items distributed amongst Rukiga bazzukulu included hoes, sprayers, gnut crashing machines, welding machines, herbicides, sawing machines, hair dryers, chapat making machines, cooking oil, chips flying machines, seeds etc.
