Rakai RDC Kiyimba In Boiling Soup As Whistleblower Exposes Her Dirty Linen, Petitions IGG To Intervene With Swift Investigations

By Our Reporter

It’s a squeaky bum time for Rakai District Resident Commissioner (RDC) Sarah Kiyimba whose alleged corruption scandals have finally been exposed by a concerned citizen and patriotic taxpayer.

In a letter seen by this site dated 21st June, a one Kemigisha Barbra, a citizen from Kyalulangira, Rakai district petitions the office of the Inspector General of Government (IGG) to swiftly intervene and institute investigations against Kiyimba who is accused of using her office to bag millions from several district roads contracts.

”For the last 2 years, Sarah Kiyimba has been the RDC Rakai, she has successfully managed to influence the winning of contracts for road construction without passing through right procurement procedures. By the close of May 2024, Rakai district on the forceful orders of RDC Kiyimba is paying her Ugx7 Million shillings per day, for using her private tractors,” reads the petition adding;

”In spite of the generous donations of road equipment by the government to Rakai district, all these equipment under the supervision of RDC have been spoiled, and all the keys lost. Right now, the private tractors belonging to Kiyimba are used to construct shoddy roads.”

The petitioner adds that five per cent of workers in the Department of Works at Rakai DLG, have been illegally laid off in exchange for unqualified workers who drive her private tractors.

As if the above is not enough, the petitioner adds that off the Ugx1 billion donated by the government to Rakai to construct roads, 10 per cent of these funds was paid to RDC Sarah, as a forceful commission that is not questionable.

”RDC Kiyimba for the last two years of her corrupt services in Rakai proudly brags how she is untouchable, and no state agency can tame her immoral public conduct.

”As a citizen who has resided in Rakai for the last 50 years, like the majority of silent grieving citizens, am shocked at the gross abuse of office, criminal acts and abhorrent behaviour detriment to government ethics that is being portrayed on a day-to-day basis by RDC Kiyimba,” added Kemigisha in her petition.

Meanwhile, when contacted RDC Kiyimba for a comment on these accusations, she trashed them saying these are mere allegations as she doesn’t own a single tractor.

”It’s not true I don’t own a single tractor, which kind of tractors are they talking about? I don’t know anything,” said Kiyimba when contacted by our reporter.

These come at a time when the country is engulfed by a wave of corruption scandals involving political and public servants. As we report this, 5 MPs are in jail over the same.

These include; Yusuf Mutembuli MP for Bunyole East Constituency in Butaleja District, Paul Akamba MP for Busiki Constituency in Namutumba District, Cissy Namujju Dionizia Lwengo District Woman MP, Igara East MP Michael Mawanda, Elgon County MP, Mudimi Wamakuyu.
