If there is any servant in the ruling NRM government who serves to the satisfaction of the wanainchi that’s none other than Ms Prossy Mwanjuzi the deputy RDC of Mityana district.
The workaholic ‘engine’ of HE. YK Museveni this Friday 28th held a thanksgiving event in her home district Buyende where thousands gathered to thank God for granting her another chance after she was attacked by ruthless goons who burnt her vehicle.
The deadly incident occurred on 1st June 2024 when a number of unknown people entered her home and went straight to her parked car before they attempted to ignite it with the motive of seeing her out of the house so that they could kill her.
After some good minutes of using this trick that didn’t work out, the attackers changed and started hooting the car and later set it on fire.
During Friday’s thanksgiving service which attracted hundreds of people, Mwanjuzi made it clear to the believers that the attackers had no any other intention but to kill her.
”I thank God that today am still breathing, these attackers had come to kill me but God’s mercy engulfed me and I survived. I thank you my people for standing with me and for showering me comforting messages…thank you all for standing with me in those challenging times,” noted Prossy.
Mwanjuzi noted how ever that she won’t be threatened by works of the devil and vowed to stay committed to serve Ugandans effectively.
”When my great leader HE. Museveni appointed me to serve in this RDC capacity, I expected both thrilling and horrific experiences like one that happened on June 1st, but guess what, am not looking back…in fact due to the love people of Mityana have shown me, am determined to serve you more than I could before,” noted Mwanjuzi.
She reminded the Minister of Presidency Milly Babalanda that she lacks a vehicle that can smoothen her work during monitoring of government programs.
”It’s a serious barrier for now because even I can’t find a way of transporting my security if I don’t have a vehicle, it’s my humble appeal to the President through you mama Babalanda you support my good work with a vehicle,” Mwanjuzi appealed to the Minister Babalanda who promised to follow it up.
State Minister for Lands Hon Sam Mayanja, hailed Mwanjuzi for being a transparent leader whom you will never find in any land scandals as seen in other districts where RDC’s are used to grab people’s land.
The Hon Minister noted that Mwanjuzi even when she was pregnant she was still very active and could be found in the field attending to the wanainchi something he said surprised him and vowed to support her in her leadership.
”My humble appeal to the security agencies investigating this attack on Mwanjuzi please we need swift responses to this case and the judiciary should take serious action on whoever will be implicated. I thank you Ms RDC for your hard work and may you continue so that you can be an example to others,” noted Mayanja.
Also, Mwanjuzi was commended by the Bishop of Mityana Anglican Diocese, Rt Rev Dr. James Bukomeko for loving her religion and supporting the church.
Bishop who was the main celebrant also at this same event baptized dozens of young believers and Mwanjuzi made fundraising for her former school Bulembo Primary School to boost its development.
In our interaction with one of the attendees who trekked all the way from Mityana noted that it was so crucial to come and thank God for Mwanjuzi’s life praising her as one of the few government servants who will give you total attention when you visit her office and serves you to satisfaction.
”Today we have prayed, thanked God and etc but there is a special prayer I have on my heart…i will be the happiest the day I hear that Museveni has promoted Mwanjuzi to full RDC or even made her a Minister, she is just a ‘unique material’ when it comes to leadership, people like Mwanjuzi are very few, she is always on the ground attending to our issues and for the years i have been in Mityana i have never heard anyone saying Mwanjuzi is corrupt, now why not promote such a person for sure Jajja Museveni think about that lady,” said a 59yr old woman.
The event attracted government bigwigs, cultural leaders, and religious leaders including; the Bishop of Mityana Anglican Diocese, the Rt Rev Dr. James Bukomeko, Minister of the Presidency Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, State Minister for Lands Sam Mayanja, Commissioner of RDC’s Frederick Nkayi Mbagadhi, Inhebantu’s father Mr Bayoole Stanley among very many others from Buyende and Mityana.
