In a highly anticipated friendly match on Saturday evening, the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Football Club emerged victorious against Hoima’s De’Corporate FC with a 3-2 match result.
The match, held at the Bwikya Playgrounds in the rich Oil City, aimed to foster stronger relationships with the President’s Bazzukulu in the Bunyoro Subregion, particularly in Hoima City.
At exactly 4pm, the game kicked off with much enthusiasm, as both teams demonstrated their skills and determination to win.
ONC FC, led by its Chairman Mr. Seith Burari and Head coach Nelly Julius Kalema, showcased an impressive performance that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats throughout the match.
As the match got more thrilling, ONC FC took the lead with Olowo Robert Chaye scoring the first goal, setting the pace for what would be a closely contested match.
The team’s offensive strategy and cohesive play were evident as Kato Marvin followed with another goal, solidifying ONC FC’s dominance on the field.
Marvin later sealed the victory with a third goal, ensuring that ONC FC maintained their lead despite the fierce competition from De’Corporate FC.
Hoima’s De’Corporate FC, known for their resilience and strategic gameplay, managed to score two goals, making the match intensely competitive. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the spirited and well-coordinated ONC FC.
The triumph was not just a testament to the players’ skills but also to their dedication and teamwork.
Chairman Seith Burari praised the team for their commitment and hard work. He emphasized that this victory was just the beginning of a series of friendly matches planned across different regions of the country.
“This is the first of its kind, and it will continue to different regions of the country,” Mr. Burari stated, highlighting the broader vision behind these friendly matches.
Mr. Seith further extended his gratitude to the team for representing the office with a distinction. He acknowledged the challenges faced and praised the team’s ability to overcome them, securing a well-deserved victory.
“It was a challenge returning victorious from the Oil City,” he remarked, underscoring the significance of the win.
In recognition of their outstanding performance, ONC FC was awarded a prize of 2 million shillings by Chairman Seith. This reward not only acknowledged their success on the field but also served as motivation for future matches. The players expressed their gratitude for the support and encouragement from their leadership and fans.
The team’s coach, Nelly Julius Kalema, also commended the players for their excellent performance and sportsmanship.
He noted that the match against De’Corporate FC was a significant challenge, particularly given the strong reputation of Hoima City, often referred to as the Oil City. “Returning victorious from such a competitive match was indeed a notable achievement for ONC FC. We shall continue to showcase the best performance,” he noted.
The ONC coach further noted that as ONC FC prepares for their next series of matches in other regions, the team remains focused on maintaining their winning streak and continuing to represent the Office of the National Chairman with pride and excellence.

On Wednesday, the Manager of ONC, SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, flagged off the 25-member team, including technical staff and players.
Hajjat Namyalo encouraged the team to represent the office with distinction and challenged them to return victorious from the Oil City.
She also provided a Shs2m cash support to cover match day expenses and urged the technical staff to actively engage the Bazzukulu in Hoima during the event.
This match marked the inaugural engagement of the ONC football team and as well set a positive precedent for future engagements and reinforces the importance of sports in building strong community ties.
The victory over De’Corporate FC marks the beginning of a promising journey for ONC FC, one that will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and unity of communities across the nation.
