Three Arrested Over Multimillion PDM Scandal In Namutumba

The State House Anti Corruption Unit has this morning arraigned three suspects from Namutumba District before the Chief Magistrates Court, Iganga on charges of theft of PDM funds from beneficiaries.

The accused are;

1. Namugosa Farida, Woman Councilor Nawampandu Parish,

2. Namaba Rogers, PDM SACCO Chairperson for Nawampandu “A”, 

3.Kantono Ruth, PDM SACCO Chairperson of Kasegere B.

According to the Unit, the trio, who are all SACCO leaders between the months of August and September 2023 allegedly escorted PDM funds beneficiaries to the banks and lured them to withdraw and later took the money from them.

They have been remanded until 02/08/2024.
