HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday appointed new Resident District/City Commissioners, Deputies, and RDC Secretariat Commissioners across Uganda.
“In Exercise of the Powers conferred upon the President of the Republic of Uganda by Articles 99 and 203 of the 1995 Constitution (as amended); I hereby, appoint the following persons as Resident District /City Commissioners, Deputies and Commissioners at the RDC Secretariat,” he announced via his X handle.
Among those re-considered in these appointments include the workaholic and most committed servant of the people of Mityana Ms Proscovia Mwanjuzi who was retained as the area Deputy Resident Commissioner (D/RDC).
This re-appointment however came as a shock and a disappointment to the people of Mityana who expected Mwanjuzi to be promoted as their full RDC.
They assert that Mwanjuzi for the little time she has served in Mityana, she has been vocal on issues affecting Museveni’s bazzukulu, ensured effective service delivery and tried to make sure every wanainchi especially the peasants benefit from the gov’t programs.
”Am sorry to tell you this but am not happy with whoever re-appointed Mwanjuzi as a deputy, this gov’t should learn to motivate its hardworking and committed servants like seriously, this young lady came with vigour to ensure superclass services for the local person and she has proved her capability, she is very committed and so powerful in a way that you can’t believe, powerful in a way that even those so called ‘connected mafias’ fear her, we had a lot of land grabbing cases in Mityana spearheaded by those mafias but ever since she came have you had such things again?” a furious 63yr old Henry Mutebi questioned our reporter.
Among those that were promoted in these reshuffles include; Namara Julie now RDC Namisindwa, Nkojo David RDC Lyantonde, Katerega Musaazi RDC Butambala, Magara Banuli RDC Bugweri, Kamusiime Zadox RDC Rukiga, Bakunda George RDC Kiruhura and Ekaju John Robert RDC Serere district.
”I thank God that my best servant Mwanjuzi has been not transferred in these reshuffles, I was worried of losing our daughter in these reshuffles because to some of us, she is not even an RDC but our daughter because of her good services we adopted her as our child, meanwhile, now that we’ve retained her, the next prayer am pushing is let her be promoted, she highly deserves this, please when you go back to Kampala push our appeals to Museveni or whoever is concerned to give our transparent servant a promotion, tell Museveni this is the only loyal servant you have in Mityana,” another 50yr old female resident of Sekanyonyi on condition of anonymity ‘cried’ to our reporter.
Our snoop captured some congratulatory messages splashed on one of the WhatsApp groups of Mityana;
- ”Congs our iron lady Prossy but we were expecting a promotion due to your hard work,” Chairperson Veterans Mityana RTD Maj Bukenya Henry wrote.
- ”To motivate our Deputy RDC they would reward her with promotion,” a Katende Lawrence from Ssekayonyi penned.
- ”Madam Deputy RDC she is so hardworking, she needs motivation amidst the challenges,” an elder of Mityana SDA church also inked.
Not only the above, Kawooya Richard Register NRM, Faith the Admin NRM and Mr. Kintu John Chairperson NRM Mityana district were also totally disappointed as they all expected a promotion for Mwanjuzi noting that she is working under intense risk of mafias in Mityana who some months back wanted to kill her when they attacked her home and burnt her vehicle.
Meanwhile, in our phone call interview with Mwanjuzi on these promotions, she affirmed that she is ready to continue fighting for the locals and all Museveni bazzukulu especially those battling land grabbers so that they get justice on their bibanja.
”I know land grabbers and brokers were waiting to hear that am transferred or dropped sorry for them nze wendi, ‘literary meaning am around and unshaken‘, I believe the President has the best plans for me. I’m still in my morning, am sure promotions will come at the right time, God’s timing is the best,” the no nonsense Mwanjuzi nailed her come back vowing to work like never before so that people of Mityana can get better services and in turn award Museveni another term in 2026 elections.
