Museveni’s Visit In High Gear! Bugisu Youth Leaders, Stakeholders Table Several Ideas To ‘Feed’ The President

The youths in masaba land have agreed to front the matter of having a cooperative as a uniting factor where all youths in respective of the political affiliation will benefit as they prepare to receive the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on 12th September at Mbale SS Grounds.

In a meeting with stakeholders including Members of Parliament from Bugisu, Religious Leaders, Security Chiefs, local government representation, NRM party leadership and Business community led by the state Minister for Karamoja Florence Nambozo, youths spoke out with a United voice of having cooperation and regional unity so that they will unite all youths in Bugisu.

Minister Nambozo however guided that the Youths invite members of the National Planing Authority, Cooperative Expert and BCU chairman Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi and Uganda Microfinance Support Centre to enlight them of how to run the cooperative which is going to act as an umbrella for socio economic transformation.

Ambassador Walimbwa Peke the Prime Minister Inzu Ya Masaba noted that the cooperative is a very great idea which shall not only attract funding from Government but also None Government Organizations and it’s better than always advocating for individual interests, he also emphasized youths to be proud of what they are and learn on how to be selfish of their tribes, let them always emphasize values of ownership.

The Resident City Commissiner Mbale City asked the organizers of the symposium to engage everyone including the informal sector because it’s bound to benefit and not specifically few leaders.

Youths through Brian Mauso the Youths Chairman for Mbale City have also requested for ten acres of land where Government can introduce an innovation hub that can help develop skills of the youths to reduce unemployment.

Another suggestion was to remind the president of the long waited Bugisu University that should boost the levels of employment among the youths and also boost the education sector because it’s very hard for the people bugisu to educate their children in Kampala and other sub regional institutions.

Hon Richard Wanda the Chairperson Bugisu Parliamentary group emphasized that Bugisu University is badly needed in Bugisu and that it should have come as early as yesterday. He also noted that their is already land in Bulambuli, Mbale City and other districts which can facilitate the introduction of a university.

The District Kadhi and the head of inter religious affairs who represented the religious department also rallied youths from across the region to come in large numbers on 12th September and welcome the president as they prepare to listen to him.

Chris Buyera the ONC coordinator for Bugisu sub region and also the chairperson organising committee called for unity and discipline among the youths ahead of the mega event, he said that Hajat Hadijah thought that it is special for the youths of Bugisu to meet the president because ONC Bugisu pushed for it without hesitation.

Buyela said that let’s not front our political differences and interests to spoil this golden chance for the youths in bugisu to benefit from the president, it’s high time for our people to also support the youths as they usher in to a new generation.

Finally the all the bugisu stake holders resolved to massively welcome the president and also listen to his wise teaching.
