”Throng Mbale SS Grounds On Sept 12th & Thank Museveni For Educating You”- ONC Bugisu Team Urges Mbale Industrial Hub Trainees

By Frank Kamuntu

The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) team, led by Regional Coordinator Mr. Buyela Christopher has visited the Bugisu Zonal Industrial Hub to engage with new trainees on the importance of mindset change.

The visit comes as part of ongoing efforts to mobilize young people for the upcoming Bugisu Youth Symposium scheduled for Thursday, September, 12, 2024.

During the visit, the ONC team emphasized the need for the trainees, who are currently enrolled in a six-month training program under the Presidential Initiative on Wealth Creation, to appreciate the unique opportunity they have been given.

Mr. Buyela highlighted the significance of acquiring skills and knowledge that will last a lifetime, urging the trainees to be thankful to President Museveni, who, despite not being their relative, has generously provided for their training.

The team focused on instilling values of self-esteem, confidence, and determination in the fight against poverty in Uganda.

Ms Racheal Nabulo shared her personal story of overcoming hardship, emphasizing that while life may be challenging, maintaining focus and resilience can lead to success. She encouraged the trainees to believe in themselves, noting that education is not the sole path to success; rather, belief and focus are key.

Another advocate of mindset change, Namasaba Jalia, stressed the importance of focus and behaviour in ensuring success.

She reminded the trainees to be proud of the opportunity they have received and to recognize the privilege of being selected from a large pool of applicants without having to pay a single coin.

Namasaba urged them to embrace this change from the moment they stepped through the gates of the Mbale Industrial Hub.

Mr. Buyela also imparted valuable lessons on four critical areas: seizing opportunities, maintaining good health, cultivating positive behaviour, and understanding national security.

He advised the trainees to let go of their past as school dropouts and embrace the new opportunities ahead, including the potential to pursue further education up to a degree level.

On the topic of national security, Mr. Buyela underscored the importance of patriotism, describing it as an inherent value rather than something that can be taught.

He reminded the trainees that no matter where they go in the world, their identity as Ugandans will remain unchanged.

The ONC team concluded their visit by requesting the management of the industrial hub to grant the trainees the opportunity to welcome President Museveni, their benefactor, during his upcoming visit.
