The Lions Club of Kampala East (LCKE), in collaboration with Mengo Hospital, is providing a Free Eye Checkup and Medical Camp scheduled for Sunday, October 20, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Naguru. This community health initiative is part of Lions International’s global mission to provide essential healthcare services to underprivileged communities and to promote healthy living.
At the camp, attendees will have access to comprehensive eye examinations, cataract operations for children, prescription glasses, and screenings for diabetes and hypertension. These services will be provided free of charge to ensure that everyone in need, regardless of their financial situation, can benefit from quality healthcare.
The event is expected to attract over 300 community members, and Lions Club Kampala East encourages everyone to attend, especially those who may be struggling with vision or health issues.
President of Lions Club Kampala East, Hilda Mugenyi, says: “as Lions, we are committed to serving our community and making a real impact on the lives of those who need it most. This Eye and Medical Camp will provide critical services that many in our community cannot otherwise afford, and we are proud to partner with Mengo Hospital to make this happen.”
This initiative is part of Lions Club Kampala East’s ongoing efforts to improve health and well-being of the community it serves namely Naguru.
