The Deputy Resident Commissioner (D/RDC) Mityana district Ms Prossy Mwanjuzi is living in deeper fear after the release of suspects she accuses of burning her vehicle and attempting to kill her.
For those reading this for the first time, Mwanjuzi, a strong vocalist of pro-NRM initiatives, a proud young muzzukulu who decided to sacrifice the whole of her life to serve her boss HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, was on 1st June 2023 attacked by unknown killers at her home and after failure to get her in that night they opted to burn her vehicle and left it into ashes.
In fact, since then, Mityana people have been crying to President Museveni to equip her hardworking ‘daughter’ Mwanjuzi with a brand new swanky ride and tighten her security. Now, as they were still praying for that, they got news that the suspects who were behind this attack were released after Director Of Public Prosecution (DPP) Hon. Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo withdrew the charges and closed the file.
The residents accuse Hon Godfrey Ssuubi Kiwanda, the NRM Vice Chairperson Buganda Region and  former Mityana South Member of Parliament Simeo Nsubuga of conniving with some officers in DPP’s office to play the above games.
It is alleged that Kiwanda got involved in these matters to protect his friend, a land blocker known as Abdallah who is also alleged to be behind this deadly scandal.
”We got news that Kiwanda and Simeo dealt with a one Magada Alex and they hoodwinked the DPP to withdraw the charges against the key suspect Deo Kyaaze who has been on remand since June. This suspect is accused of being behind the deadly attack against Mwanjuzi and another lawyer they murdered some time back,” says a furious resident in Mityana.
These residents have since wondered if justice can be denied to any RDC, a top government officer what about a local wanainchi deep in villages of Kaberamaido.
Concerns over alleged fraudulent closures of criminal cases by the DPP have raised questions about transparency and justice in the country’s legal system. This issue, frequently highlighted in both media and parliamentary discussions, points to various cases where charges against some suspects have been dropped under suspicious circumstances. This pattern has led to public outcry over potential favoritism, corruption, and political interference in the criminal justice process.
