President Yoweri Museveni inaugurated the Soroti Industrial Presidential Skilling Hub this morning, continuing his initiative to enhance vocational training across Uganda. The new center, which currently enrolls 240 students from various parts of Teso, accepts learners regardless of their academic backgrounds.

During his visit, President Museveni inspected several facilities, including those for welding and metal fabrication, industrial art and design, hairdressing and cosmetology, carpentry, and brick-laying. He expressed satisfaction with the skills and knowledge displayed by the students.

The launch was attended by several prominent leaders, including Vice President Jesca Alupo and Speaker of Parliament Anita Among.

Following the event, President Museveni is set to address local leaders and technical staff from all districts in the Teso Subregion at the Kumi Boma Grounds, focusing on strategies for wealth creation.

This initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to empower youth and equip them with practical skills to enhance their employability and promote local economic development.
