“Form Transformative Savings Groups To Kick Poverty Out Of Your Homes”- Dr Khanakwa Urges Namisindwa Women

By Our Reporter

Dr. Khanàkwa Sarah, popularly known as Sibya Sipoto and a Namisindwa Woman MP aspirant, has called upon women in the district to form impactful savings groups as a strategy for improving household incomes and fostering financial independence.

Speaking at a meeting with the Sibuse Women Saving Group on Saturday morning at Sibuse Primary School in Bubutu Sub-county, Dr. Khanakwa emphasized the importance of collective financial empowerment.

“My vision is for Namisindwa women to emulate successful models like BRAC. This organization grew from women’s saving groups into a globally recognized financial institution. I hope to see Namisindwa women unite, create impactful groups, and eventually establish their own banks,” she said.

Dr. Khanakwa also underscored the potential of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in enhancing economic activities. She encouraged women to join Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) to tap into the program’s resources for income-generating ventures.

In a show of solidarity, Dr. Khanakwa became a member of the Bubutu Sub-county SACCO, pledging to actively participate in the group’s activities, including regular savings.

Her vision aims to inspire Namisindwa women to strengthen their financial bases, grow their initiatives, and uplift entire communities. With determination and unity, she believes women can lead the district toward economic transformation and long-term prosperity.

Dr. Khanakwa’s message has sparked enthusiasm among the women of Namisindwa, offering a beacon of hope for grassroots-driven economic development.
