Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the Senior Presidential Advisor (SPA) and Personal Assistant (PA) in the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling the promises made by President Yoweri Museveni since he came into leadership. Appearing on NTV Uganda’s #EbigamboTebitta program this morning, Namyalo highlighted key areas where significant progress has been made and emphasized the administration’s dedication to ensuring continued development.
1. Education for All
Namyalo said one of the President’s major promises was to ensure education for every Ugandan. ”Today, this vision is becoming a reality, with a noticeable improvement in the number of children attending school. Government-aided schools have recorded progressive improvement in performance, and the establishment of over 2,000 seed schools at the sub-county level has further expanded access to education. This investment in education is a fundamental step toward national development, as it empowers young Ugandans with the knowledge and skills needed to shape their future.”
2. Access to Clean Water
She said government has made significant strides in providing clean water to communities. So far, over 81% of Ugandans now have access to safe drinking water. ”This achievement has positively impacted public health by reducing waterborne diseases and improving the quality of life in rural and urban areas.”
3. Justice and Equality
The rule of law remains a cornerstone of Uganda’s governance. According to Hajjati Namyalo, recent developments in the country have demonstrated that Uganda is a democratic nation that upholds justice and equality. She emphasized that the law applies to all citizens equally and that the government continues to strengthen legal frameworks to protect the rights of every Ugandan.
4. Wealth Creation and Livelihood Improvement
The President is actively engaging with different regions to ensure the proper implementation of government programs aimed at wealth creation. The Parish Development Model (PDM) is a key initiative designed to uplift communities by providing financial support to local entrepreneurs.
Hajjat Namyalo acknowledged that bureaucracy has hindered the efficient distribution of these funds. The Office of the National Chairman is actively working to address these challenges and ensure that Ugandans receive their rightful share of taxpayer-funded programs. She also highlighted the establishment of Presidential Skills Hubs in every region, which provide young people with vocational training to enhance personal development and economic independence.
5. Depoliticizing Government Support
In response to criticism that government assistance to Ugandans is merely political handouts, Hajjat Namyalo urged the public to recognize the real struggles that people face. She stated that many Ugandans only need a small boost to break free from poverty, and the government is committed to providing that initial support. The focus should remain on practical solutions rather than political debates.
6. Security and Stability
Security remains a top priority for the President. Over the years, Uganda has maintained peace and stability, allowing for economic growth and social development. Hajjat Namyalo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that Uganda remains safe for all its citizens.
In her conclusion, she said the government, under President Museveni’s leadership, has made commendable progress in key areas and emphasized that while challenges exist, efforts are being made to overcome them and ensure that all Ugandans benefit from government programs. She called on the public to support these initiatives and work together for the continued development of the nation not forgetting supporting Museveni in 2026 elections.
