NRM’s Hakim Kyeswa Thrilled With Museveni’s PDM Initiatives Ahead Of Western Uganda Tour

By Frank Kamuntu

Hakim Kyeswa, an aspirant for the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) Vice Chairperson – Central position and an advocate for grassroots development, has commended President Yoweri Museveni’s relentless efforts to empower rural communities through the Parish Development Model (PDM).

Kyeswa’s remarks come as the President prepares to tour the Kigezi region and other parts of western Uganda from February 12 to 14, 2025.

The Kigezi tour is expected to be a major highlight of the PDM program, focusing on assessing the success of grassroots initiatives. President Museveni will visit model farmers to showcase transformative agricultural practices, engage in a live media interaction with journalists, and hold a public rally with the Wanainchi to foster dialogue and inspire broader participation in the program.

Kyeswa emphasized the importance of these tours, describing them as a direct link between government leadership and the citizens. “President Museveni’s commitment to personally engaging with communities through these tours demonstrates his vision for inclusive development. The Parish Development Model is not just a policy but a revolutionary approach to eradicating poverty,” Kyeswa stated.

In addition to Kyeswa’s support, leaders in the Lango sub-region recently praised President Museveni for his dedication to improving livelihoods. In a joint memo presented to the President, they acknowledged the PDM’s transformative impact, stating, “Your government’s initiatives over the years have brought hope and prosperity to millions.”

During previous tours, the President has also received accolades for his efforts in Greater Busoga, where farmers expressed gratitude for increased productivity and market opportunities under the PDM framework. These tours have solidified the model’s reputation as a cornerstone of Uganda’s economic transformation strategy.

The upcoming visit to western Uganda, including Kigezi, signals a renewed focus on rural development in the region. The tour is expected to spotlight local success stories and inspire greater community participation in the program. It also underscores the government’s mission to lift millions of households from subsistence farming to a sustainable money economy.

As the nation gears up for this transformative engagement, Kyeswa reaffirmed his support for the initiative, stating that the PDM provides practical solutions to bridge economic disparities. “This is a unique opportunity for Ugandans to work together and achieve shared prosperity,” he added.

President Museveni’s western Uganda tour will further solidify the PDM’s role as a flagship development program, ensuring that no community is left behind in the journey toward national economic empowerment.
